MORE ON “ABOUT US”

In the past, we organized some “off the chart” outdoor trips.

Slowing down now and doing an occasional more one on one or a handful of people.  Not a professional guide service.  More of a “share expenses” type of arrangement.  Traveling mostly in the general area of the desert southwest USA.  Vehicle tent camping, limited backpacking, Kayaking & Yakpacking, Dutch Oven cooking, and visiting favorite and new sights.

We do our best to screen potential co-travelers.  We strive to have level headed individuals that are respectful of others, people that get along with others, and people that can take care of themselves, and others, in unpredictable situations.

Those that are into recreational drug use, excessive alcohol use,  loud types, and people that always tend to get into arguments, please do not contact us.

If you are visiting Las Vegas, Nevada from somewhere in the USA or another country, depending on what is going on or scheduled, you may be welcomed to join us.

Our pace is that of our slowest member.  Our objective is to have fun while staying safe.  For the most part we are not out to set records of distance and time.  If you can’t pace yourself accordingly, or a need to hike/drive on alone.  You need to solicit another group.   We stick together.   Whether we are backpacking/hiking, or driving to a destination in multiple vehicles.

We do try our best to pre-establish group goals within trips for those that have to evaluate themselves honestly before committing.  In the case of trips that include backpacking/hiking/kayaking.  Goals sometimes have to be met to make campgrounds in the daylight with time to set up, to reach necessary water sources, or to meet drop -off or  pick-up arrangements.  Same with vehicle trips.

We do request you have the experience to know your physical means, enabling you to stay at our pace.   We aren’t super fast, but we aren’t sissies by any means.

Most of the above hints around backpacking or hiking.  We also do lots of vehicle/tent camping, or trailer/RV events too.  Kayaking and over night Yakpacking.

A group of friends have tear drop trailers, Cargo Conversions, and Commercial RV/Trailers.  That means, on occasion we also stay at RV Parks that have those types of facilites.  As examples but not limited to Dutch Oven Cook-off’s, Winery Grape Stomps, or meeting up on the Pacific coast.  Dry camping/Boondocking old desert ghost towns, expanses of desert, or remote parts of southwestern USA.

Watch for posts or check the “Upcoming Events”. Contact us if you are interested in a group event.  We are often doing preliminary work before anything info is ever out to members.  Always open for location requests.

A couple major highlight trips have been vehicle/trailer/tent camping Yellowstone NP & Glacier NP.  As well as numerous Backbacking trips down into the Grand Canyon area.   Yosemite is on our Bucket list as are numerous less popular locations.  We often can’t arrange group events at the more popular spots due to the difficulty in securing reservations.  Many of those require advanced planning and non-refundable deposits.
